Self-portrait

Posted by Regina G. Santaella (Cancún, Mexico) on 23 September 2013 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

This is the last picture I'll be posting for a while. I don't know how long it will take for me to come back, but I certainly will.
I'm so grateful to all of you who have posted beautiful comments. Your words mean so much to me, and I'll keep them close to my heart.
I've met wonderful people here, some of you have definitely changed my life. Once again, thank you. Love to you all.

Ludovic Roudet from Charenton-le-Pont, France

Superb composition, with remarkable framing and sensuality. Particularly with your lips caressing the edges of the picture, and your pull-over and its creases as a second skin. One of my favorite today.

23 Sep 2013 6:02am

@Ludovic Roudet: I've always loved the way you use words Ludovic, thank you so much for this wonderful comment!

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Please, please, do not give up. Please take some time, go outside, enjoy the fresh air, take your camera and look for the small things in the world to shoot. We want you to come back here refreshed, with new challenges conquered, we want to see new self portraits with those lips set free and smiling :-)
Please do not be away long Regina.

23 Sep 2013 7:17am

@Curly: Of course I won't give up Curly, and I'll be back before you know it! Thank you for all those kind words you've left on my posts, you have no idea how much I appreciate them. See you soon, very soon :)

Ludovic Roudet from Charenton-le-Pont, France

I just realized the decision you have made, this is terribly sad. How come ? Bad times on AM3...

23 Sep 2013 10:06am

@Ludovic Roudet: Lack of time mostly :( but I'll be back as soon as I can, I still have so much I want to share!

L'Ourson Perturbé from Spain

I thought I was not going to comment this picture because of your departure, but I just want to say that it is excellently framed, sensual, and a little bit sad (the tone in particular).
About your decision, the only thing I have to say publicly, I've written it here.

23 Sep 2013 10:53am

@L'Ourson Perturbé: I always feel so happy when you compliment my pictures. Your heart is truly made of gold.

Dimitrios from ATHENS, Greece

keep on with photography*
greetings

23 Sep 2013 10:55am

@Dimitrios: I will, thank you!

Helodie from AVRANCHES, France

A wonderful portrait, very sensual because of the gesture and your beautiful lips.
I am also sad you don't want to post anymore, and I hope I would see your photos soon.

23 Sep 2013 11:49am

@Helodie: Very soon Helodie! Thank you for your gorgeous compliments :)

Sue-Ann from Quebec, Canada

I am sad to heard about it. One of your best pictures of my favorite model. You already know about it. It seems it would be so easy for you to publish pictures of yourself. I don't understant of course but I feel there is something very sad under it and not a lack of pictures to publish. Asking you to come back will not solve the problem as I know what is the feeling of wanting to quit. Too many people are leaving this plateform to be sometihing natural, there is something else and it is gettting very bad. Hope the staff will revise some of the things and make this platform what it used to be and should be. For sure they know people are leaving for better skys but are they asking themself why... too bad, it is a sad monday. If you want to discuss, you can always write to me personnally, I will be there for you as you know I always liked you.

23 Sep 2013 2:48pm

@Sue-Ann: I always smile when you call me your favourite model :) Not a lack of pictures, just difficult, painful hings going on right now, and I need to focus on getting them fixed. I really like you too Sue-Ann, your friendship and support means a lot to me, really. Thank you for your kindness and for being a beautiful person.

Shaahin Bahremand from Tehran, Iran

23 Sep 2013 4:47pm

@JCJ: I will! thank you!

Abena from Illinois, United States

Wow, I have to say, this may be one of the best self portraits I've ever seen. I love the mood, the feeling, how beautiful both you and the image are. It's natural and I love that you could share with us so much. I'm kind of shocked and sad to hear you're leaving and I don't want you to go! But I do hope you come back refreshed, energized and the happy free you that you are. You're an inspiration to so many including me ! If you ever want to talk I'm here too :) Bravo for the image and an excellent blog so far.

24 Sep 2013 3:16am

@Abena: Your words are always so amazingly beautiful Abena, and they mean a lot to me. Thank you so much for being the wonderful person you are, a friend like you must be treasured. I will definitely come back, I promise it won't be long, because I will miss you all so much. Knowing that you think of me as an inspiration makes me feel so humble, and I want you to know I feel the same way about you, you're quite admirable :) If you ever need anything, I'm here my friend.

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

This is such a beautiful image Regina, please don't be away too long you images are as wonderful and individual as you are and it would be a great shame if we were unable to share them with you. Please take care Regina, you have my thoughts and best wishes my friend

24 Sep 2013 9:07am

@Doug: Your words are really touching Doug, thank you for always leaving beautiful comments under my pictures. I deeply appreciate all the wonderful things you've said. I will come back very soon, I can't wait to see what comes next!

Adela Fonts from Barcelona, Spain

Jeremy from Ridgedale, United States

Gorgeous! I love the graininess and the sensual pose. I think you lips are my favorite part of this one--so full and well-formed. Their subdued color and the soft lines are perfect.

Your news is the saddest I've heard all day. Why? Email me if you like. Your photoblog is one of my favorites, and your responses are always thought out and detailed. I think you're extremely talented and hope to see you back hear soon!

24 Sep 2013 10:15pm

@Jeremy: I love how you feel about the lips Jeremy, for they are my favourite part as well :) I just felt this was the right decision according to several events that have been going on lately, you can e-mail me too, I'm always available for my friends :) Thank you for always being so kind and attentive towards my pictures, and of course I think you're so talented too (and I'm really not saying it to be nice, I mean it). I'll miss all of you so much, and I'll be back very soon!

Calusarus from Drome des collines, France

Very nice with this clever framing

25 Sep 2013 10:42am

@Calusarus: thank you!!

Phil from Sausset les Pins, France

I show myself or not, I remove more or not... This photo shows all the hesitations and the sufferings which you have in the head... You leave, you are going to leave a space, but I am sure that you will return full of freshness for our big happiness, I like your hypersensitive sensibility although if sometimes it damages you, Kisses Régina , Phil

26 Sep 2013 10:01am

@Phil: I love your interpretation Phil, of course I'll come back happy and ready to share so much more :) And you're so right, sometimes it's damaging (you read me very well), but I'm glad you like it! Thank you so much!

Basile Pesso from Barcelona, Spain
